Mixed blocks to New Zealand
My partner this month is Lorraine in New Zealand and her request is any block in any colour. I decided to make the cute Cedar tree block as it show cases two colours evenly.
I then rummaged through my fabrics to find some fresh spring coloured prints to make them with and here is what I came up with. I have also made Lorraine one of my selvidge book marks to pop in the parcel

My First 6" Blocks I made for Anna
These fall colors were a great treat to do for Anna. Our trees here in North Carolina USA are just starting to change and the tempatures are starting to fall. I am excited since I spend more time in my sewing room when the tempatures start getting cooler.

Canadian Stars
Maria from Canada is my August partner, and although I have not heard from her, I still got myself busy and made her blocks.
Maria requested Star blocks in white or off white, blues and yellow.
I certainly hope that these two fit the bill. The yellow fabric (border of star on left) is some of the oldest in my stash and featured in the first queen bed quilt that I ever made.

Tropical sail boats
I had a huge pile of mail when I arrived home on Friday and one of them was this lovely squishy parcel from Chantell. This was Chantells first attempt at paper piecing and she did an amazing job.
I love the tropical feel to the boats with the fabric that she used.

August swap partners
I have just completed the mail out of partners for August and welcome Traci and Maxine doing their first swap with us this month, and thank Janet for being my double swap queen.
Its interesting for me to note that we have 23 members in this little sister group to QBSA, and of those 23 members only 10 of them are Australian. We have 5 USA members, 5 Canadians and 1 each from The Netherlands, Portugal, and New Zealand meaning that it is almost as likely that your partner could be from the same country as you as it is that they will be from Australia.

June Blocks For and From Margaret of Medowie
Just received these gorgeous blocks from Margaret, love her choice of fabrics and her workmanship. Thanks Margaret for doing such a great job.
As for her Blocks, she has requested for 8 Pointed Star in blue on a cream background. Here's what I sent her. I must admit that I was being too ambitious, as the blocks were only 6 inches! It was a challenge getting the seams to meet up in the centre!!!

My blocks made and a WIP
After I sent out the June partners last night I headed into my cave to get my blocks underway.
My partner is Bobbie who requested any block in cream and green. Now I was not sure if Bobbie wanted dark green or light green so I made both.
And as it turns out the pattern gave instructions for 4 blocks, so Bobbie gets two of each. The block pattern that I used is Birds in the air.
And today I decided to work on my sailing regatta for awhile. I had already popped the spotty strips to each side of the blocks and today I joined them with the navy sail boat print fabric.
I still have 2 boats and one star, not enough to complete another row. So this can go back in the WIP for a little while as I collect a few more of these little cuties. I always get inspired when I see quilts in progress, so I hoped this has helped others like me with ideas. I will probably make it a bit wider too, with perhaps one or two more on the end, lets see - after all it is a WIP.

Megans April blocks
Megan was my swap partner for April but was running a little behind with her block swaps, but did keep me in the loop regarding this.
I have to say it is well worth the wait as the stars are fabulous, they will be a great addition to my sailing boat quilt as I plan to pop a few star blocks in here and there. Megan also sent me the most adorable little angel softie. She will be so pretty on my Christmas tree this year.
