May and June ...................

In May, Mary asked for Basket blocks - my choice of pattern. I sewed 2 types of baskets and keenly mailed hem away before taking a photo. (Maybe Mary will post a picture here when she receives them).

These are the blocks Mary sent to me -

Thank you Mary, they are lovely.

My June partner is Elizabeth who asked for any block in any colour - the options are endless. I made 2 slightly different Framed Scrappy Squares -

I love "scrappy" and hope Elizabeth does too!

Bow ties for Brenda

Brenda requested any block with 1930's fabric on white. I don't often delve into my 1930's stash and I had fun picking out these cute fabrics for Brenda.

May blocks from Brenda

This month my partner was Brenda from Ohio, she sent me three gorgeous Log Cabin blocks. She also gave me a history lesson that I loved, she made me a yellow centered log cabin. That block  was used in the civil war times to help the running slaves find safe houses to stay in during the escape to the North.
Thank you so much Brenda!

Brenda requested any block using 1930's reproduction fabrics. This is what I sent her

Sue's blocks for May

Here are the blocks I sent Sue. The churn dash on the right is actually green but my light wasn't so good and I really enjoyed doing the foundation pieced block. I love the ones Sue sent me ( see post below), my collection of 6" blocks is growing very nicely. Thanks Sue for swapping this month
