Message from Medora

Sue; I have recieved a very beautiful set of 6 inch blocks from my partner Jolanda in Acores.  I was delighted to see them arrive yesterday and I enjoyed the cup of Tea made with the Tea she enclosed from her country.  It has been a delight to be in touch with someone from Acores, and in this short time of emails I have learned so much about that part of our wonderful world. This is a great way to meet peole from all over and we found that we do share an interest we both own Bed 'n' Breakfast.  We also have raised three sons, no daughters though.  LOL  She enjoys pretty much the same hobbies as I have.  Our ages differ as I am twenty years older then she is.  It has been avery pleasant experience.  Hugs and thanks for introducing us.  All the Best ....Crafty hugs to you ....Medora

Message from Leena

Hi Sue,
How are you? I can see you are very, very busy as ever! Great way to start the 6" Blocks with Lynette doing such a fantastic job.My block is The Little Cedar Tree Block and I have requested for combination of red/black/white (only 2 colours in one block). Could not have asked for anything better, great fabric and workmanship!! Thanks Lynette.
Thank you Sue for always being so helpful with the blogging and keep up the good job. Have a great weekend.

MARCH BLOCKS FOR MEDORA

Today I made my first two blocks for this group. Medora wanted stars, so I made a friendship star and a ohio star. I hope she likes them.

Hugs. Jolanda

Sneak Peek for Sue B - March Block

Here is my very first block.
A sawtooth star - white on white tone with red or blue for Sue B.

Vanessa's Friendship stars

My second swap partner for March in this group is Vanessa who requested friendship stars.

Vanessa asked for the centre of the star to be in cream so she can embroider the makers name on it, and the points of the star to be in any colour.

I decided on one lovely rich chocolate colour way and a pretty purple colourway.  I hope Vanessa likes my choices.

Sally's stars

Sally is one of my swap partners for March and she requested bright stars on a black background.  It was a great opportunity for me to use some of the beautiful batik fabric I have in my stash.

I hope you like your stars Sally, they will be in the post to you this week.

Welcome a a new member

All of the March partners were sent out this morning, and isn't it funny how things happen, but Cheryl M offered to do more than one swap if I had an odd number of swappers, ( but I had already had that issue worked out), and then within minutes of her email offering this I received an email from Coralie in Canada to join the group.

The timing could have not been more perfect. So welcome to Coralie, who as our first new member to join in any of the groups since the anniversary celebrations were announced is in the running to receive a charm pack.

Have fun making your blocks ladies.

And they're off...

Long weekend in South Australia this weekend to celebrate the Adelaide cup horse race which is not as big and as famous as the Melbourne cup.

And since its almost the middle of March and like me I think everyone is super keen to get cracking on these little blocks so I will finalise the partners and do the email run this weekend

So as well as the horses off and running, so will we be to our sewing rooms to get started.  Giddy up
