Susans Batik Butterflys

Susan was my Partner in this group for May and her request was Butterfly blocks in Batik fabrics.  I was keen to do these for her, as I am practicing my new Foundation piecing skills. 

I did find these surprisingly easy to make, partially because the batik fabric does not have a right or wrong side (or at least I couldn't tell if it did), so there were less mistakes for me = less unpicking. Susan they will be fluttering to you this week

Jolanda's parcel inspected by customs!!

I received my lovely blocks from Jolanda this week, but the parcel had been opened by Australian Quarantine as there was something inside that may have been suspicious! Luckily it was all taped up again and everything was OK. I think it was those locally grown teabags that must have sent the sniffer dogs into a frenzy!!

Anyway, everything arrived safely and I'm enjoying a cup of the tea right now!
