A block swap quilt

Thank you to all of the ladies that contributed to this lovely quilt that I am giving to my grand son Jack.  This was made over almost 2 years ( started in May 2011) with blocks received in the 6 inch swap.  I am so pleased with the finished result.

Beginner Did A Good Job

My partner was Dawnelle.  She was a little taken by my pattern and was unsure she could do it.  Well I am here to say "SHE DID".  And she did a good job.

The color was very well matched and there is little baby chicks in the print.  You can't really see it in the picture.  I was shocked to see I got 4 blocks instead of only 2.  Was a wonderful surprise.

I did her blocks and after I uploaded the picture I realized it looks like Christmas fabric. Even though it isn't.  I guess I will be putting the rest of that in my Christmas stash...

I hope she likes them.

Here are the blocks she made for me.

Thanks so much to Maxine for these gorgeous blocks and the cute co-ordinating notecard.
Love, love them!

spoilt again

These two lovely blocks arrived in my letterbox today from Maxine,

My choice is either a pink buttercup on dark cream or chocolate churn dash and Maxine made me one of each.

Maxine also sent me this gorgeous hand made card that matches the tulip block, Its too pretty to use, so I will have to keep it for someone special.  Isn’t it gorgeous.

I love "scrappy".................

My first exchange partner in this group is Jen who asked for 1" postage stamp blocks. I was determined not to duplicate any fabrics, and when I had all the pieces cut I realised I could go on for many more blocks .......... wow, how much fabric have I accumulated.
With some careful cutting and stitching I made these blocks -

I put all the pieces in a pile and stitched them together as they came. Random is difficult for me but I did not want to 'arrange' and 'rearrange'.Hope you are pleased Jen, and they fit well in your postage stamp project.

Some pretties for Maxine

Maxine has chosen pretty pink, lemon or green in the traditional shoo fly block.  I chose to do one lemon and one in pink.

Its always nice to use some of the pretty fabric in your stash, these will be posted tomorrowIMG_0077
